In a forest filled with morning light, a single white peacock quietly watches time go by.

I painted a forest enveloped in morning light, with a single white peacock.

Light filters through the trees, pale blue-green reflects on the water's surface, and golden glimmers layer here and there. Within that quiet landscape, I placed just one peacock.

Rather than emphasizing the peacock's splendor, I expressed its presence as something that dissolves into the light, water, and air of the forest.

The way your gaze shifts—noticing the light first depending on the viewing distance, then turning to the water's edge, and finally discovering the peacock—is also part of this work.

I hope to bring quiet light and a touch of the ethereal into a bright room.

Koken

I create works centered on an "inner space" where thought, memory, and existence intersect.
Through heavy impasto, I construct phenomena such as pressure, collapse, and regeneration on the canvas, simultaneously expressing both stillness and depth.

My work does not aim to depict landscapes or specific subjects,
but rather to draw out a "sense of being" and the "ineffable margins" that lie beyond words.

As viewers engage with my art, I hope they may let go of their thoughts and
quietly return to themselves—this is the experience I strive to create.

It is my wish that my work will bring a sense of calm and a tranquil atmosphere to your daily space,
remaining a companion to you for a long time to come.

My hobbies include Shorinji Kempo (405th class) and racquetball.
