Though it is my first time here, for some reason, it feels nostalgic. A small village welcomed by the moonlight.

The night in a small village, quietly illuminated by a full moon.

Colorful flowers bloom along the cobblestone paths, and warm light spills from the windows of old timber-framed houses.

Stars twinkle in the night sky, and the entire village is wrapped in a gentle moonlight.

A small bird perches atop a stone wall.

Is it waiting for someone, or is it simply watching over the village on this typical night?

Even though I am visiting for the first time, it feels strangely familiar.

Drawn in by this mysterious sensation, I slowly walk along the cobblestone road.

There is no need to hurry, nor any need to decide on a destination.

Tonight, simply surrender yourself to the flow of time in this village.

This piece is part of Kouken's landscape art series, "The Quiet Invitation."

Through the presence of a small bird living within the scenery, I have captured a scene where the viewer is gently welcomed into a world of story.

Koken

My work explores the "inner space" where thought, memory, and existence intersect. Using heavy impasto, I construct phenomena such as pressure, collapse, and regeneration on the canvas, simultaneously expressing both stillness and depth.

Rather than depicting landscapes or specific objects, my work aims to evoke a "sense of being" and the "ineffable spaces" that lie beyond words.

My goal is to create an experience where the viewer can let go of their thoughts while facing the work, quietly returning to themselves.

I hope my art will serve as a lasting presence in your daily life, bringing a sense of calm and a serene atmosphere to your space.

My hobbies include Shorinji Kempo (405th class) and racquetball.
