Decaying Gunkanjima

Hashima Island, also known as Gunkanjima, was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2015.

Area: 0.063㎢
Population: 5,267 people
At its peak, 5,267 people lived on this small island, making Hashima the most densely populated island in the world.

The men risked their lives to work 24 hours a day, working in two or three shifts to excavate coal.

The mine closed in 1974 when the energy source shifted from coal to oil, and since then the island has been uninhabited and time has stood still, with it now decaying away.

The island was nicknamed "Battleship Island" because its appearance resembles the battleship "Tosa."

This artificial island is surrounded by sea on all sides and is collapsing every year.

How to choose the color of a picture frame

We are often asked, "What color is best for a picture frame?" There are two ways to choose. The first is to choose a frame that matches the picture. Darker pictures should be paired with darker frames, and lighter pictures with lighter frames. A white frame is recommended for cooler colors, and a natural frame for warmer colors. The second is to choose a frame that matches the color of the room. Choose a frame color that matches the color of the floor and furniture. If the room is decorated with white floors and furniture, choose a white frame; if the floors and furniture are natural, choose a natural frame; if the floors and furniture are dark, choose a brown frame; and if the room is monochromatic, choose a black frame.
