~Mount Goshikiiwa, a Sacred Site, and Kamikura Shrine~
The sacred site at dawn: Kamikura Shrine and Gotobiki-iwa Rock
Kumano Kodo is a World Heritage site, and at Kamikura Shrine, believed to be the origin of this faith, sits Gotobiki-iwa Rock, a sacred place where gods are said to have first descended. It is a special place where many people have offered prayers and walked for centuries.
On the day of the shoot, we began our ascent at 3:30 AM, while the town was still asleep. We climbed the 538 steep stone steps, said to have been donated by Minamoto no Yoritomo, one step at a time, relying on our lights. This photo captures the moment the sky slowly began to change from indigo to the light of morning, as we waited for dawn on the silent mountaintop.
Below us, the awakening townscape of Shingu spread out, and the scene where the tranquility of the sacred site and the breath of a new morning merged felt as if it foretold the dawn of the future. This view, found at the end of a challenging path, remains deeply etched in my heart.
Kumano has long been revered as the "land of rebirth," accepting the prayers of many people. This work captures the tranquility and the light of dawn flowing through this sacred site. I hope that each time you display it in your room, you will feel the clear air and mystical time of Kumano, find peace in your heart, and welcome each new day with a positive spirit.
Kai
Thank you for viewing my work.
I'm Kai from Aloha Canvas. "Kai" means "ocean" in Hawaiian.
Hawaii is a second home to me. Over 30 trips, I've been drawn not just to the beautiful scenery, but to the flow of time on the islands, the warmth of the people, and the spirit of living in harmony with nature.
What I aim to depict is not just the landscape itself. It's the entire atmosphere of that moment – the breeze, the pouring light, the sound of the waves – infused into each piece.
At the heart of my creation is the spirit of Aloha, valuing compassion, gratitude, and harmony with nature. The concept is "Bring Hawaii Home."
There would be nothing that would make me happier than to be able to deliver moments where, every time you display or gift a piece, you feel the Hawaiian breeze, light, and the spirit of Aloha close at hand, and your heart gently unwinds.

Committed to quality
A work planned, produced and sold by Ayuwara. Made with high-quality art paper that feels like drawing paper. Rich color reproduction allows delicate colors to be faithfully reproduced. It is not photographic paper, giving it a mysterious impression that makes you wonder whether it is a painting or a photograph. The paper is not glossy and does not reflect light, so fluorescent light does not make the work difficult to see. We also paid particular attention to color reproduction. Color adjustments can be made precisely using the latest technology. Each piece is produced using digital printing, which allows for accurate color reproduction. Quality is checked, and those that pass are embossed with Ayuwara's seal to complete the work.
A simple frame that enhances the picture
This frame is made from natural wood. The natural finish does not obscure the wood grain. The simple color and shape make the picture stand out. This is a classic frame that suits modern homes well. Developed in collaboration with a frame manufacturer. This is an Ayuwara original frame.
Frame color can be changed
The frame color will be the same as the artwork image. You can change it if you wish. You can choose from white, natural, brown, or black. If you have a preference, please write "XX frame desired" in the comments section when placing your order.
How to choose the color of a picture frame
We are often asked, "What color is best for a picture frame?" There are two ways to choose. The first is to choose a frame that matches the picture. Darker pictures should be paired with darker frames, and lighter pictures with lighter frames. A white frame is recommended for cooler colors, and a natural frame for warmer colors. The second is to choose a frame that matches the color of the room. Choose a frame color that matches the color of the floor and furniture. If the room is decorated with white floors and furniture, choose a white frame; if the floors and furniture are natural, choose a natural frame; if the floors and furniture are dark, choose a brown frame; and if the room is monochromatic, choose a black frame.
