Flower margins - A day melting into white - Flower margins - Memories dwelling in fleeting white -

This photo was taken with a Nikon EM film SLR.
The subject is okra flowers.

The pale white petals open quietly and then wilt as the day comes to an end.
Its short life will remain in our memory as a fleeting sparkle.

Before okra bears fruit, it produces beautiful flowers.
They are like small miracles that often pass by before they even catch the eye of the people.

This photograph captures the feeling of "time passing by like the blink of an eye" and "a quiet, lingering impression that lingers in the heart."
Every time you look at it, the nostalgia of a long-ago summer day may suddenly come back to your heart.

Artist Profile

Yoshitsugu Takuma
A photographer living in Oita Prefecture.
He shoots using both film and digital media, focusing on the themes of "light and shadow" and "echoes of memory" that lurk in everyday life.

I aim to evoke in the form of photographs the landscapes, sounds, and fluctuations of time that were engraved in my heart as a child. Through my work, I hope to convey moments that will suddenly make viewers recall feelings of nostalgia and nostalgia.

Equipment used

Film camera:
LOMO LC-A+ / Nikon EM / LOMO LC-A W

Digital Camera:
OLYMPUS PEN E-P1 (first generation digital PEN model released in 2009) / RICOH GR III

While staying in tune with the feelings of the moment, he incorporates the graininess unique to film and the delicate depictions of digital technology into his work.

I also create illustrations as a hobby, and enjoy using them as a way to express "memories and time" just like photography.
