A corner of the city where high-rise buildings and power lines intersect

Surrounded by countless structures, people come and go namelessly, carrying out their daily lives.
In this work, the man-made lines and surfaces that make up the city, and the presence of people moving through them, are depicted in layers of watercolor with a blue base.

The vague contours created by the smearing and overlapping of the images express the "silence" that lies beneath the noise of the city.
The figures, which are not clearly depicted, are not symbols of any particular person, but rather of the countless anonymous beings that support the city.

Cities are constantly moving, but they also have a constant rhythm and breathing within them.
The work was created with the intention of capturing the quiet heartbeat of the city while exploring the relationship between color and shape.

Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1956
After retiring, he graduated from the Kyoto University of Arts Correspondence Course Western Painting Course.

There is a beauty in the natural and urban landscapes where human activities and the flow of time blend together. I am fascinated by the subtle changes in color of light and air, and the rhythm created by the hard structures and natural shapes. In watercolors, I aim to portray the breath and charm of the landscape through the blurring and transparency of water.
