Timeless beauty

During the rainy season, I happened to stop by an iris garden.
I was captivated by the flowers standing there moistly in the fresh air after the rain.

It's not the vividness of a full bloom, but a soft purple that looks like it's starting to fade.
Even so, the sight of them quietly blooming,
I was reminded of the phrase "beauty that remains unchanged over time."

People also change little by little with the seasons.
But it may be that true beauty and meaning lies in these changes.

I hope this photo will gently stir the "landscape of memories" in your heart.

Hajime Matsui

Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1978

When I was in elementary school, I loved taking pictures with a camera I borrowed from my father.
When he was in high school, his grandmother gave him a single-lens reflex camera as a gift for his entrance into school, which prompted him to join the photography club.

I study portrait photography because I want someone to be delighted when I give them a gift and say, "I'm so happy that someone took such beautiful photos!"
He also began taking pictures of ordinary everyday scenes, wanting to share the scenery that moved him with others.

After graduating from high school, he was briefly a member of the All Japan Photographic Association and won a special prize in a contest.

He also enjoyed writing poetry, and held a solo exhibition in Kagawa Prefecture for three years entitled "Poetic Photography: Words that Convey Feelings," in which he displayed photographs accompanied by poems.

【concept】
"Add the lingering feeling of words to your photographs."

The scenery I photograph is never particularly special.
An ordinary roadside, the setting sun, flowers swaying in the wind.

But I didn't want to miss the atmosphere and the feeling of that moment.
I take a picture with the words that come to mind.

The warmth of the heart that cannot be conveyed through photographs alone
If it could be delivered along with the words.

Small stories and emotions arise within the viewer.
