きらの宿すばる。――アマチュア作家の独り言

「なぜ絵を描くのだろうか？」そんな問いを自分に投げかける事がある。
突き詰めて行くと「描きたいと思ったから。」となってしまうが、これでは個々の作品を前にしての答えにはなっていない。
作品ごとに「描きたい！」と突き動かされた「何か」があり、その「何か」は皆違う。
「きらの宿すばる」は美留和にある息子の常宿。二年前の秋、家族でお邪魔し、近くの沼「キンムトーへの道」を描き、送らせて頂いた。
翌年訪れると、玄関にとても立派な特注の額に入れられて飾られていた。感謝と恐縮の気持ちを込め、今年「きらの宿すばる」を描いてお送りした。
美味しい夕食、温泉、そして会話を通して感じられる久郷さんご夫妻の温かいお人柄。絶え間なく餌台に交互に降りてくる鳥たち。そして、ゆっくりと揺れながら降り注ぐ枯葉を、ぼんやりと眺めていた朝食後のひととき。
それら全体が醸し出すものが「描きたい」を「描こう」に変えた「何か」だったのだろう。
そんな情景を思い出しながら、遅筆の自分にしては驚くほどの速さで描き上げた。
この宿に泊まられる方々に、絵を通してあの時の風情を少しでも共感していた

How to choose the color of a picture frame

We are often asked, "What color is best for a picture frame?" There are two ways to choose. The first is to choose a frame that matches the picture. Darker pictures should be paired with darker frames, and lighter pictures with lighter frames. A white frame is recommended for cooler colors, and a natural frame for warmer colors. The second is to choose a frame that matches the color of the room. Choose a frame color that matches the color of the floor and furniture. If the room is decorated with white floors and furniture, choose a white frame; if the floors and furniture are natural, choose a natural frame; if the floors and furniture are dark, choose a brown frame; and if the room is monochromatic, choose a black frame.
