Sun dogs and halos are considered good omens

When the sun began to decline in early summer
I was strolling around a seaside town in Hokkaido with my girlfriend.

Suddenly, I looked up at the sky and noticed something like a rainbow.

Let's see the whole rainbow
That's what I thought
I walked with her towards the beach

When you reach a place where you can look down on the coastline
There, with the shining sun
Light spreads like wings
A beautiful landscape unfolded

The two of them were holding their breath and gazing at the light.
A seabird flew off towards the light

Hiro Morioka

Born in Kochi Prefecture in 1978
In 2009, he quit his job and began traveling around the country on his motorcycle to take photographs.
He moved to Hokkaido in 2012 and interacted with local professional photographers. While being influenced by many, he learned photography techniques on his own.
In 2014, he won the "Daily Dozen" award on Yourshot, a photo submission community run by the National Geographic (US) website.
Since 2015, he has returned to his hometown of Kochi Prefecture in Shikoku and continues to photograph local landscapes to this day. His subjects are landscapes and nature, but his theme is "memories of encounters with nature and landscapes depicted by light," and he mainly produces landscape photographs with an artistic edge.
