A gentle day remains in the room.

Around five in the evening, light streams through the window, bathing the walls and the old wooden table in a golden glow.

Nothing special has happened.

A small vase, a book left half-read, the autumn scenery outside the window—a typical day remains quietly in a familiar room.

For just a brief moment as the sun dips low, these everyday surroundings look a little different.

In this piece, I have captured the time before that light fades away.

Even on an ordinary day, a light like this remains.

When you hang this on your wall, I hope it helps you recall such small, fleeting moments.

Koken

I create work centered on the "inner space" where thought, memory, and existence intersect.
Through the use of heavy matière (impasto), I construct phenomena such as pressure, collapse, and regeneration on the canvas, simultaneously expressing both stillness and depth.

My work does not aim to depict landscapes or specific subjects;
rather, it seeks to draw out "the sensation of being there" and "ineffable margins."

As viewers engage with my art, I hope they can let go of their thoughts
and return quietly to themselves—a return to their own being.

I hope my art will serve as a presence that offers comfort and a tranquil atmosphere to your daily life, staying with you for a long time.

My hobbies include Shorinji Kempo (405th class) and racquetball.
