One night in 1994, while I was stationed in Honolulu at the time, I happened to come across some pastel paintings on TV. The moment I saw them, I felt as if I had been struck by lightning and something inside me had been awakened, and I decided, "From the next day, I'll start painting with pastels!"

The next day, I started drawing with such intensity that I forgot to eat or sleep, and I couldn't keep up with the ideas that kept coming to me.

I met people who guided me one after another, and before I knew it, I was attending university and holding a solo exhibition.
The people who guided me were all "older women," and after returning to Japan in 1998, I was again supported by an art gallery in Ginza run by an "older woman."

Another blessing I received during my eight years living in Hawaii was meeting my first cat, Mimi-chan.
I really feel the healing energy from both Hawaii's nature and the cats.

I have been blessed with this mysterious connection and have been living an art-related life for 30 years, and to this day I have a huge number of works that remain in my possession and are sleeping under the bed in my room.

I would be extremely happy if as many people as possible could see my work, and if my work could bring healing to the lives of my customers.

How to choose the color of a picture frame

We are often asked, "What color is best for a picture frame?" There are two ways to choose. The first is to choose a frame that matches the picture. Darker pictures should be paired with darker frames, and lighter pictures with lighter frames. A white frame is recommended for cooler colors, and a natural frame for warmer colors. The second is to choose a frame that matches the color of the room. Choose a frame color that matches the color of the floor and furniture. If the room is decorated with white floors and furniture, choose a white frame; if the floors and furniture are natural, choose a natural frame; if the floors and furniture are dark, choose a brown frame; and if the room is monochromatic, choose a black frame.
