In the scenery fading into night, a light remains that reminds me of a place to return to.

I have depicted the distant lights beginning to flicker on at twilight, just after the rain.

The sky still holds traces of the day, and the wet road reflects the tiny glowing lights.

There is a single feather in the foreground, but the true protagonist of this piece is not the feather itself.

When I look at those distant lights, I sometimes feel as if someone is there, or I am reminded of a place to return to.

I did not depict whose lights they are, leaving that answer for the viewer to decide.

I hope this is a piece that brings a sense of quiet to your heart when you gaze upon it at the end of the day.

Koken

I create works based on the theme of an "inner space" where thought, memory, and existence intersect. By using thick, heavy matière (impasto), I construct phenomena such as pressure, collapse, and regeneration on the canvas, simultaneously expressing both stillness and depth.

My work does not aim to depict landscapes or objects, but rather to draw out the "sensation of being there" and the "ineffable spaces" that lie beyond words.

My goal is to create an experience where, as viewers face the work, they can let go of their thoughts and quietly return to themselves.

I hope my art will bring a sense of calm and tranquility to your daily space, and become a presence that remains with you for a long time.

My hobbies include Shorinji Kempo (405th class) and racquetball.
