View of Mt. Yari and Mt. Hotaka from the direction of Mt. Norikura

September 2025
I headed for Mt. Norikura. I took a bus from Honokidaira to Tatamidaira, but the area was shrouded in mist and there was no view. I walked around the BT area and entered the hut.
The next day was a clear day! After an early breakfast, we headed to the summit of Mt. Norikura via Mt. Fujimi. Many people were lightly dressed, as we could gain altitude by bus. It was probably the easiest mountain to reach the summit of any mountain over 3000m.
Once you pass Kata no Koya (shoulder hut) on the road that cars can use, the scenery changes completely. The slope increases and you climb a road with large boulders rolling around, gaining altitude in one go.
When I climbed close to the ridge and looked back in the direction I had come from, the Yari and Hotaka mountain ranges were no longer at a height that I had to look up at.

Tama

A mysterious watercolor painter living in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture.
I climb mountains and paint.
The long journey to the trailhead is a concern.
He also paints landscapes of his hometown, Choshi City.
He is currently working on his artwork while crossing the Alps from the Sea of Japan to the Pacific Ocean.
I'm working on it, but I'm only halfway there.
I don't know when I'll reach the goal.
I would be happy if you could share your mountain views.
